Monthly Tips to Reach Your Ultimate Health

Yep , the Pilates ring or Pilates magic circle is one of Joseph Pilates gadgets that he developed to handle certain aspects of body exercise.

It’s a ring, a complete circle--- not hard to figure that one out. You can get your arms round it when held against your chest. It’s a tensioned spring or metal so that when you squeeze it you get resistance of different level depending on how tensioned it is.

It’s very handy to use and have and fits in with other Pilates exercise .

You can create a whole workout round it but I don’t see a particular benefit to that in giving an all round workout but as part of a workout it’s great.

It can strengthen arms, shoulder, shoulder blade and rib cage through squeezing it. Very simple. Aren’t the best things really simple?

Squeezing it between the legs strengthens the inner thighs, pelvic floor and also the outer thigh and other muscles.

It is also great for stabilizing certain areas as you work.

For instance , the Pilates ring can keep the sternum anchored and ribcage stable as you work the lower body or the legs stably aligned in the joints as you work them.

So it’s a good dual worker. You can use it to keep the joints where they should be, to maintain correct breathing and ribcage position at the same time as you strengthen muscles. Very clever Mr Pilates.

Make sure you get or work on a Pilates ring that is the correct tension for you and the area you are working. No heroics please. Too much and you will get cramp and the muscles will spaz out and not work. Also if you are in pain and muscles won’t work after, you know you overdid it.

Follow Pilates basics of workout. Correct breathing, fluid flowing movements from one movement to the next, body and mind to get the correct muscle to work the right amount to enhance it. The right level for you is everything. That means fast progress.

It’s not a fast mindless gadget. Use it with intelligence.
